Sinopse:

Ângela Diniz era conhecida no mundo artístico como a “Pantera de Minas”. Mas no seio de sua família ela continuava sendo a “Menina da Missa das Dez”. Tinha 32 anos, três filhos de um primeiro casamento marcado por ciúmes e escândalos. Era uma mulher cobiçada por homens e mulheres. Entretanto, em 1976, a sua vida foi fatalmente interrompida: quatro tiros, disparados por um namorado que ela conhecera três meses antes, tirava a vida de uma das badaladas modelo brasileira. O que seria um “simples” crime passional, tão comum na época, passou a ser um dos casos de crime contra a mulher com maior repercussão no Brasil. Ângela Diniz foi morta por Doca Street, de quem ela desejava se separar e reconstruir a sua vida de sucesso e liberdade. Este artigo, portanto, se concentra na análise das relações de gênero e retoma a problemática das representações identitárias construídas no processo criminal que envolveu a modelo Ângela Diniz e Doca Street. Dessa forma, este trabalho é um percurso sobre as tensões cotidianas da relação amorosa, afetiva e sexual dos sujeitos envolvidos neste caso, segundo as memórias do julgamento de Doca Street.

Sinopse:

RESUMO O período pós II Guerra Mundial foi o momento mais fértil na história da humanidade para o desenvolvimento e a concretização de instrumentos de proteção e promoção dos direitos humanos a nível internacional. As barbaridades cometidas pelos nazistas impulsionaram uma discussão mundial sobre a necessidade de sistemas de amparo e fomento contra tais crimes resultando no surgimento de tratados como a Declaração Universal dos Direitos Humanos, a Carta Africana de Direitos Humanos e dos Povos e as Convenções Européia e Americana, juntamente com as respectivas Comissões e Cortes, que envolvem os Estados e todas as nações. Seguindo caminhos distintos, porém próximos, esses sistemas continentais de direitos humanos possuem características peculiares e desenvolvimento em tempos desiguais, os quais ajudam aos estudiosos da área a compreender o que poderá vir pela frente, principalmente, com a concretização de mais sistemas regionais, por exemplo, o asiático e o do oriente médio. O presente trabalho busca fazer uma análise, de forma comparativa, dos três principais sistemas regionais de proteção e promoção dos Direitos Humanos: os sistemas europeu, interamericano e africano, o qual mostrará os desafios encontrados por cada um deles, o grau de desenvolvimento que se encontram e o processo de justicialização que ajudam a desenvolver a nível mundial.

It is a well-established principle, both domestically and internationally, that rape is torture when suffered as part of confinement. it is also well documented, both domestically and internationally, that rape is rampant in u.s. prisons. and it is well established, both domestically and internationally, that those who torture should not do so with impunity, that that impunity is an affront to civilization and the human rights principles to which we all strive. and yet, in u.s. prisons, shocking numbers of women are systematically raped and sexually abused by those that would rehabilitate them. female prisoners are victims of vaginal and anal rape; forced oral sex; forced digital penetration; quid pro quo coercion of sex in order to retain privileges or protection; and sexual threats to name a few.[i] female prisoners face this kind of abuse daily, all while confined, unable to avoid the abuser, at their constant mercy. this abuse rises to the level of torture, both in the very real effects on these prisoners, and also in legal definition. torture in itself is a crime. rape in itself is a crime. but this article submits that government institutionalized torture, where the perpetrators are treated with impunity, is an even greater crime. it sends the signal to perpetrators, victims, and the public, that these crimes will go unpunished, in fact they will be protected through a series of complicated legal barriers, and that these women, these victims, are not even worth protection. in the barriers imposed, both institutional and cultural, the impunity of prison rape indicates that not only are the victims unworthy of protection, but that on some level, whether subconsciously or consciously, our society believes that these women deserve this abuse. this article examines the situation of women incarcerated in the u.s. and the level to which they experience rape and sexual assault at the hands of correctional staff. the article looks to the icty jurisprudence to compare the treatment of rape as torture and explores the different treatment by courts of females imprisoned for crimes and those imprisoned in war.

Venezuela’s relations with iran date back into the sixties when both were founding members of the opec. iran’s influence in latin america has become quite large since the iranian revolution. iran sees latin america as a strategic priority for its global positioning. the lebanese immigration towards south america has begun a while ago. but there’s a period, during the lebanese civil war (1975-1990) when a large number of lebanese immigrants came to the continent. back then, according to some experts, hezbollah and iran took advantage of this mass migration and infiltrated their agents and recruiters among the muslim migrants. hezbollah is probably the most organized terrorist organization in the world in respect to its illegal financing activities. the group funds its regular operations through all sorts of crimes. hezbollah has a tight relationship with iran. ever since iran has established its covert operations in venezuela, hezbollah has come along, as its proxy. venezuela is submerged in crime and corruption. the venezuelan government has been infiltrated by transnational organized crime for more than a decade. the convergence of corruption, crime, violence and terrorism in venezuela was enabled by a set of conditions and circumstances that basically surfaced after chávez was elected president in 1998. from that time onwards, venezuela became a crucial source of political, financial and logistical support for hezbollah. their relationship impacts the neighboring countries, particularly brazil.

Fundamental rights, transnational proceedings and the european public prosecutor's office

This volume discusses EU criminal justice from three perspectives. The first concerns fundamental rights following the adoption of the directives that have progressively reinforced the cornerstone of procedural rights of suspects and defendants in national criminal proceedings in the EU member states so as to facilitate judicial cooperation. The second perspective relates to transnational criminal investigations and proceedings, which are seen as a cross section of the current state of judicial cooperation in the area of freedom, security and justice, with the related issues of efficiency, coordination, settlement of conflicts of jurisdiction, and guarantees. The third perspective concerns the development of a supranational justice system in the light of the recently established European Public Prosecutor’s Office, whose European judicial nature still coexists with strong national components.
